We Must Protect the Medicare Program, Not Endanger It

“Seniors Depend on Medicare. It’s Time for Politicians to Keep Their Commitment and Protect Our Benefits.”

Whether politicians call it Medicare for All, Medicare Buy-In or the public option, it means the same thing for America’s seniors: a new government insurance system that forces Americans into one-size-fits-all care.

When the costs of this new system becomes too burdensome, politicians will raise taxes and cut benefits for Medicare recipients.

Our leaders are supposed to protect Medicare, not put it at risk with an expensive new government run insurance system controlled by Washington politicians that would hike taxes for every American.

Lawmakers must make the right choice. That means building upon what’s working in our current health care system and fixing what’s broken – like strengthening our existing Medicare system, not placing it at risk.

By embracing new government insurance systems like Medicare for All, Medicare Buy-In and the public option, politicians are putting patients at risk of paying more and waiting longer for lower quality care, and losing control over their own health care decisions.

Every American deserves affordable, quality care.
