Partnership Statement On Working Together With New HHS Secretary Nominee

WASHINGTON – The Partnership for America’s Health Care Future issued the following statement today regarding President-elect Joe Biden’s announcement that he will nominate California Attorney General Xavier Becerra to lead the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

“The Partnership for America’s Health Care Future believes every American deserves access to affordable, high-quality health coverage and care. We look forward to working with the Department of Health and Human Services under the new administration to build on and improve what’s working, where private coverage, Medicare and Medicaid work together to expand access to coverage and care, and fix what’s broken,” said Lauren Crawford Shaver, the Partnership’s executive director. “By working together during this critical time, we can lower costs, protect patient choice, expand access, improve quality and foster innovation to help Americans get healthy and stay healthy.”
